The Monkstown Village Cluster business will host its very own Eating Challenge in a bid to raise funds for Children in Necessity.

The first challenge will see volunteers Chris Pattison, Darren Cockshot and Gary Lynch take on ‘The Belly Buster’ - a jumbo burger and chips followed by an ice cream sundae courtesy of Mauds, all to be eaten within 25 minutes.

Then Ashleigh Madders, Steven Thompson and Davy Spence will try to keep their unsociable as they compete in ‘Eat the Heat’, attempting to munch their way through eight burning chicken wings and a shredded pork fire pot before enduring a five minute attend to before they can soothe the burn.

The brave volunteers are asking people to finance them for their gluttonous gastronomic fundraiser, and business owner Marnie Scott will be supplying the food for the challenges and donating all profits made on snacks and drinks on the vespers all the time to the charity.

“We will also be doing a Pudsey Sweepstake on the night with chances to win a favour voucher donated by The Chop Shop butchers in Doagh and a vernal clean donated by No Time To Clean, Newtownabbey. We are hoping to create around £200 plus for this great cause,” Marnie commented.
