A fondness for the char of spicy food has less to do with tolerance and far more to do with personality, according to a new study.

Researchers from Pennsylvania Official University have found a love of chili is associated with sensation seeking and requite, but found no evidence that chili lovers get desensitized to chili burn over continuously.

"Rather than merely showing reduced response to the irritating qualities of capsaicin (the coalesce that gives chili its burn) as might be expected—these findings support the proposition that personality differences may drive differences in spicy food liking and intake," the authors wrote in the weekly Food Quality and Preference.

"We always assumed that liking drives intake—we eat what we like and we like what we eat. But no one had indeed directly bothered to connect these personality traits of sensation seeking with intake of chilli peppers," says up author and self-confessed chili lover Professor John Hayes.

The detection of a relationship between fondness for chilli and sensitivity to reward was also new, says Hayes who is an about professor of food science at Pennsylvania State University.

Cajun Stir Fry: A Spicy Food Lover's Dream @ In a Pretty Box

Throwing meals together is my categorical favorite item to do. I keep around a capital jump in of pantry staples like rice, spices, chicken bouillon, onions, and pasta, so that when I go to the grocery accumulation, I can pick up what’s on purchasing and take a run-out powder steal some marked meals on a restrictive budget. The reckon cost for this go was less than $5, and it serves 4-6 people.

I’m thoroughly patting myself on the back for this one, because the lunch turned out wonderful, and I made it all up as I went. Flavor knowing, this resembles a begrimed rice/gumbo/jambalaya personification dish. I threw it together last twilight when I was craving hibachi type stir fry but wanted to use my Andouille sausage and this superior red spot I found on transaction.

Exercise caution, this spread is a spicy food lover’s imagine. It contains Tabasco, Cajun herb, red spray, red speckle flakes, and Andouille sausage– all known for their spectacular flavor and fever!  :)
