The 2012 Thanksgiving Dinner in Needham was again jointly hosted by the Needham Rotary Bludgeon and the Needham Community Council, and held at the Masonic Hall on Highland Avenue. The in any case was a testimony to Rotary's and the Council's mission of “giving and serving others in stress!” The traditional Thanksgiving meal was served to about 170 guests, with 70 people feasting at the Masonic Corridor, and the remainder having their meals delivered to them by volunteer drivers. The Masonic Entry-way, donated for the event, was generously decorated and prepared by Rotarians on Thanksgiving Eve. At the crack Thanksgiving Day, Rotarians returned to cook and make ready the food, which was donated by Roche Brothers.  By 11:15 a.m., the army of volunteer drivers arrived to pick-up the take-out meals, and by 11:30 a.m. ravenous and excited guests were arriving at the Masonic Hall in anticipation of the festivities. Roche Brothers generously donated all the turkey breasts, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing and vegetables. It was an preposterous feast. Wingate At Needham generously donated apple and pumpkin pies. Good-looking table centerpieces were donated by Briarwood Healthcare. The unreserved event at the Masonic Hall warmed the hearts of both guests and the volunteers. Needham is accurately an inspiring community of thoughtful, generous and caring citizens.
